Description:
Currently, bimetallic barrel T-60 is Tan Star’s highest-grade nickel-based bimetallic barrel, with a maximum hardness as high as HRC 70.
It is specially used in engineering plastics where halogen-free fire retardant or more than 40% of glass fiber is added. Also, in response to the high velocity, high pressure injection requirement, recently, Tan Star has successfully developed a whole-new technology that increases the hardness of the base material to more than HRC 30, enabling the bimetallic barrels even more outstanding pressure-resistant.
The T-60 Nickel Base Bimetallic Barrel is designed for plastic processing environments where both wear resistance and pressure resistance are critical. Materials containing high levels of glass fiber or flame-retardant additives can significantly accelerate barrel wear, leading to reduced processing stability and increased maintenance requirements. The high-hardness alloy layer helps maintain barrel performance under these demanding conditions while supporting longer service life.
In addition to its excellent wear resistance, the T-60 is well suited for applications requiring high injection pressures and continuous production cycles. Its advanced bimetallic construction combines a wear-resistant nickel-based alloy with a strengthened steel substrate, providing enhanced durability and structural integrity for demanding extrusion and injection molding operations.
Backed by Tan Star’s extensive experience in centrifugal casting technology and bimetallic manufacturing, the T-60 offers a reliable solution for processors working with engineering plastics, reinforced compounds, and other high-performance materials. By reducing wear-related downtime and helping maintain stable melt quality, it contributes to improved production efficiency and lower long-term operating costs.
